JooHee Yoon's "Drawing Hands with A.I. (After M. C. Escher)"
Chatbots and image generators, newly on the rise, have sparked our imaginations--and our fears. As artificial-intelligence machines sharpen their ability to translate written prompts into images that accurately capture both style and substance, some visual artists worry that their specialized skills might be rendered irrelevant. Even so, the new technologies at our disposal broaden our understanding of the relationship between artist and work. In her cover for the April 24 & May 1, 2023, Innovation & Tech Issue, her first for the magazine, JooHee Yoon addresses the topic in a clever image that illustrates the reciprocity and the tension that can exist between artists and these high-tech tools (is the robot hand drawing the real hand, or vice versa?). Yoon's cover also demonstrates what makes artists unique: their ideas and their point of view. M. C. Escher (1898-1972), a Dutch graphic artist whose approach was an inspiration for Yoon, is a case in point.

Prompt Engineering: How To Speak To AI in 2023 To Get What You Want
Is prompt engineering a process that tries to get accurate, logical, and consistent answers from an AI language model? Or is it a way to find the faults in a language model and then fix them to achieve the perfect artificial intelligence model, which kills "prompt engineering?" In this article, we'll concentrate on ChatGPT because it is the most popular model at the moment. But just in case this AI tool is new to you, I suggest you read our "ChatGPT for Beginners" article first. We'll also look at prompts for image generators like DALLE 2. I have written a few articles about this LLM (large language model) and learned that it is not so smart.
How Does Artificial Intelligence Work? And How Is It Disrupting The Tech Industry?
Artificial Intelligence has been making headlines lately as new tools that allow you to create art or content from text prompts are released to the public. The pace of AI-related innovations appears to be increasing as new tools are coming out faster than ever. The entire tech industry is paying close attention as every innovation can become a new disruption to the current way of things. We're going to look at how artificial intelligence works and how it's altering the tech industry in a major way--plus, how to get started investing with AI. At the most superficial level, AI is about using computer systems to handle tasks that humans have normally performed throughout history.

AI Generated Art is Nothing New!. Generating Art Artificially
Artificial intelligence has been used to generate artificial images since the 1950s, when American computer scientist Harold Cohen made artworks using autonomous software programs of his own design. In the 1960s, British artist Peter Blake used a computer to generate patterns for his 1967 work with Eduardo Paolozzi, demoing that computers could be used to create works with acreen-printing machine. In the 1970s, American artist Charles Csuri used a computer to generate drawings of plant forms that were made into silk screens and used in a number of his works. In the 1990s, American artist Michael Brewster used a computer to generate images of women that were used in his paintings. Generative art can be defined as art that is created by means of a system, where the artist uses a set of rules or algorithms to create the work.
Artist need to Embrace Change. Artificial intelligence (AI) has made…
Artificial intelligence (AI) has made significant strides in recent years, and it has even started to create its own art. This has sparked a debate about the validity of AI-created art and whether it can be considered on the same level as human-created art. In this article, we will explore why AI-created art is just as valid as human-created art, and why artists need to stop clinging to the past and embrace the future. One argument in favor of AI-created art is that it is a reflection of the world we live in. In today's digital age, AI is an integral part of our lives, and it is only natural that it should also be a part of the art we create. By using AI to create art, we are able to capture and reflect the world in a way that is unique and innovative.
What can Artificial Intelligence accomplish in the world of art? – AI Paintings
Artificial intelligence (AI) has made significant strides in the field of art in recent years. From creating original works of art to analyzing and interpreting existing ones, AI has the potential to revolutionize the way we think about and create art. One of the most impressive feats of AI in art has been its ability to generate original works. In 2018, an AI system called GAN (Generative Adversarial Network) created a series of images that were indistinguishable from those created by humans. These images, which included portraits and landscapes, were created by feeding the AI system a large dataset of images and allowing it to analyze and replicate them.
Why AI digital art-creating tools can be a GAME CHANGER
Digital art has come a long way since its humble beginnings in the early days of personal computing. What was once limited to simple pixelated graphics and basic animation has now evolved into a sophisticated art form that employs complex algorithms, 3D rendering, and other cutting-edge technologies. Today, digital artists are using these tools to create stunning works of art that push the boundaries of what is possible. In many cases, these artists are blurring the lines between traditional art forms and digital art, creating hybrid works that combine both mediums. AI-based digital art is a type of art that is created using artificial intelligence. This can be done in a number of ways, such as using algorithms to generate images or using AI to create animations.
Mindblowing AI-Generated Art: 3 Simple Steps to Create Art using Midjourney
In this article, I will talk about Artificial Intelligence again. These days I'm super excited to explore AI, especially AI to produce art. I you think that those arts are created by people, you are wrong, those are created by computers through Artificial Intelligence. Not completely wrong, though, that AI is created by people. One of the most well-known and capable AI tools for producing art is midjourney.
Art -- Is it Still Just a Human Thing?
The apprehension of AI, Terminator being the prime example, has left many wondering what humans can do better than machines. There aren't many, given that as machines advance they will perform in ways that outdo human capacity. However, many pride themselves on what does make us unique in ways machines can never hope to accomplish: emotions and creativity. Both are central to human culture, but the medium through which they are particularly held high in regard is art. Art by definition is the expression of human creative skill or imagination with the intent of being appreciated for their beauty or emotional power. Humans and only humans have long been the sole possessors of art, but is this still the case?
AI can produce prize-winning art, but it still can't compete with human creativity
People consider creativity to be inherently human. However, artificial intelligence (AI) has reached the stage where it can be creative as well. A recent competition attracted anger from artists after it awarded a prize to an artwork created by an AI model known as Midjourney. And such software is now freely available thanks to the release of a similar model called Stable Diffusion, which is the most efficient of its kind to date. Unions of creative practitioners such as Stop AI Stealing the Show have for some time been raising concerns about the use of AI in creative fields.
